of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of
Colorado's Denver campus, where he has served as Music Department Chair. He is also
an entertainment attorney and the long-time Editor-in-Chief of the
monthly Entertainment
Law & Finance.
Stan is now completing a music law reference book. In addition, he is continuing work on the revised edition of his book "They Fought the Law:
Rock Music Goes to Court."
In July 2009, Stan will speak on "Entertainment Law in Review" to the District of Columbia Bar Association's Arts, Entertainment, Media and Sports Law Section.
In May 2009, Stan presented "Entertainment Law in Review: 2008-2009" to the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. Also in May 2009, he presented "Current Copyright Issues in Film and Television" to the New York State Bar Association Committees on Motion Pictures and on Television and Radio.
In April 2009, Stan co-presented "Entertainment Law in Review: Cases, Trends and Impact" to the Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law Section of the Los
Angeles County Bar Association.
In March 2009, Stan co-presented the "Music Litigation and Decisions" Panel of the
Continuing Legal Education Program at the South-By-Southwest Music
Conference in Austin.

December 2008, Stan presented "Entertainment Law in Review" to the Nashville Bar
Association and "Copyright Law in Review" to the
Copyright Society of the South in Nashville.
In October 2008, Stan presented "The Grammy Foundation's Entertainment Law Initiative and the Entertainment Law Industry," hosted by the Sports & Entertainment Law Student Association at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder.
Also in October 2008, Stan delivered a speech on "Recent Court Cases Impacting the Entertainment Industry" at the Texas Bar Association's 18th Annual Entertainment Law Institute. In addition, at the Texas Bar event, Stan served as a panelist for an update of recent and proposed legislation impacting the entertainment industry.
In June 2008, Stan presented "Entertainment Law In Review" to the District of Columbia Bar Association's Arts, Entertainment, Media and Sports Law Section.
In March 2008, Stan spoke on "Current Issues in Entertainment Law" at the National Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium at the University of Virginia School of Law.
In February 2008, he presented a speech on "Entertainment Law & The IP Connection" to the Oregon State Bar Intellectual Property Section's "Year in Review" Seminar.
In
January 2008, Stan presented "Entertainment Law: The Year in Review" to
the Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law Section of the Los
Angeles County Bar Association. He also moderated an in-person Q&A with legendary engineer/producer/artist Alan Parsons, hosted by the University of Colorado Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver.

In November 2007, he participated in a panel on "Careers in Sports and Entertainment Law" sponsored by The Sports and Entertainment Law Society at the University of Denver School of Law. In October 2007, he presented a "Case Law Review" speech and moderated a "Legislative Review" panel at the Texas Bar Association's 17th Annual Entertainment Law Institute in Austin. Also in October, Stan served as moderator/speaker for the "Entertainment Law Litigation Review" at the American Bar Association's Annual Forum on the Sports and Entertainment Industries in New York City.
