is the official web site for Stan Soocher. Stan is Associate Professor of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado Denver, where he has served as Music Department Chair. He is also an entertainment attorney and the long-time Editor-in-Chief of the monthly Entertainment Law & Finance.

Stan is currently working on a music law textbook, expected to be completed this year. He is also completing a revision of his book "They Fought the Law: Rock Music Goes to Court" for an updated edition that will include music-producer Phil Spector's music litigations.

In December 2008, Stan will present "Entertainment Law Year in Review" to the Nashville Bar Association and "Copyright Law Year in Review" to the Copyright Society of the South in Nashville.

In October 2008, Stan presented "The Grammy Foundation's Entertainment Law Initiative and the Entertainment Law Industry," hosted by the Sports & Entertainment Law Student Association at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder.

In October 2008, Stan also delivered a speech on "Recent Court Cases Impacting the Entertainment Industry" at the Texas Bar Association's 18th Annual Entertainment Law Institute. At the Texas Bar event, he also served as a panelist for an update of recent and proposed legislation impacting the entertainment industry.

In June 2008, Stan presented "Entertainment Law In Review" to the District of Columbia Bar Association's Arts, Entertainment, Media and Sports Law Section.

In March 2008, Stan spoke on "Current Issues in Entertainment Law" at the National Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium at the University of Virginia School of Law.

In February 2008, he presented a speech on "Entertainment Law & The IP Connection" to the Oregon State Bar Intellectual Property Section's "Year in Review" Seminar.

In January 2008, Stan presented "Entertainment Law: The Year in Review" to the Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He also moderated an in-person Q&A with legendary engineer/producer/artist Alan Parsons, hosted by the University of Colorado Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver.

In December 2007, Stan presented "Entertainment Law Year in Review" to the Nashville Bar Association and "Copyright Law Year in Review" to the Copyright Society of the South in Nashville.

In November 2007, he participated in a panel on "Careers in Sports and Entertainment Law" sponsored by The Sports and Entertainment Law Society at the University of Denver School of Law. In October 2007, he presented a "Case Law Review" speech and moderated a "Legislative Review" panel at the Texas Bar Association's 17th Annual Entertainment Law Institute in Austin. Also in October, Stan served as moderator/speaker for the "Entertainment Law Litigation Review" at the American Bar Association's Annual Forum on the Sports and Entertainment Industries in New York City.

In May 2007, Stan presented "Entertainment Law in Review 2006-2007" to the New York State Bar Association's Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section. He also spoke on "Current Copyright Issues in Film and Television" to the New York State Bar Association's Committees on Motion Pictures and on Television and Radio.

In April 2007, Stan presented "Entertainment Law: The Year in Review" to the Arts, Entertainment, Media & Sports Law Section of the District of Columbia Bar. In March 2007, he served as moderator/speaker for the "Music Litigation Update" Panel at the Continuing Legal Education Program of the South-By-Southwest Music Conference in Austin.
